Donna Hancock

Donna founded Piano Keys 4 Kids to help students learn the fundamentals of musical concept and theory to help establish a basic to intermediate level of competency in piano, choir and percussion.  Donna has managed a Piano Studio and has been teaching private piano lessons for 30 years.

In addition to a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Elon University in Social Work she continued her piano studies with a focus in Music Theory.  Donna also attended Lynchburg College where she worked on a Masters Degree in early Childhood Education and Counseling.
Donna is a member of Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association, the premier organization for professional music teachers across the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.   Each year Donna’s private students participate in nationally recognized festivals and events.
Her extensive background in music, teaching and early childhood phycology supports Donna’s enduring passion for sharing the gift of music fundamentals to preschool through high school aged students.

Taylor Simpson

Taylor Simpson is an operatic lyric soprano and music educator based in the D.C. Metropolitan area. She holds a Bachelors of Music from Liberty University and Masters of Music from George Mason University.

As a teacher, Taylor focuses on musicianship, foundational music theory, and proper technique. In addition to her work with Piano Keys 4 Kids, Taylor is a piano and voice faculty member at Harmonia School of Music and Art in Vienna, VA, and also the Music Director of the Arlington Children’s Chorus.

Gabriella is a fourth year at the University of Virginia, double majoring in Music and Studio Art. She has been a part-time instructor at Piano Keys 4 Kids since 2013. She studied piano with the owner, Donna Hancock, since she was 6 years old, up until she graduated from Herndon High School in 2015. She still continues to utilize this incredible skill of playing the piano in her everyday life as a student at UVA.

Gabriella is extremely passionate about music and loves getting to teach and create with all of her students. Playing the piano is such an important part of Gabriella’s life and having the opportunity to jumpstart a child’s interest in playing the piano is so special to her; it is the gift that keeps on giving. Having the ability to share this gift of music with others, is so rewarding, not only for her but for her students as well.

Samuel Marcus

Samuel plays a variety of instruments including piano, guitar, and percussion/drum set. His skills on keeping a rhythm, understanding rudiments, and keeping pace as a drummer guided him to help teach percussion classes to bring the concepts of drums and rhythm to students.

By playing multiple instruments, Samuel understands what it takes to be successful on a drum set as well as in a percussion ensemble.
